The Workplace Chat feature lets you communicate directly with workers who have booked shifts at your workplace. This article covers how chat works, the guidelines, and channel management.
If you want to learn how to send chats, you can see How to Contact a Professional.
Chat Availability
When a worker books a shift at your workplace, you can communicate with each other for up to 30 days after the booking
Message Security
Messages in the Workplace Chat feature are encrypted. This means the content of your conversations is protected and only visible to the participants in the channel.
Chat Guidelines
Sending unlawful, threatening, or obscene content is prohibited. Review the Terms of Service for the Workplace Chat feature.
How Channels Work
A channel is a one-on-one chat between your workplace and a worker.
- A channel is created the moment a worker books a shift.
- Only one channel exists between your workplace and any given worker. If the same worker books multiple shifts, all conversations remain in a single channel.
- A channel stays active for 30 days after the last booking, then becomes inactive. Chat history remains readable after the channel becomes inactive.
- The channel reactivates when the worker books a new shift at your workplace.
Filtered Language
Profanity, sexually suggestive terms, and violent or hateful content are filtered. Words that fall into these categories appear as *asterisks* in the chat window.
