Making changes to your shift's times will differ depending on if the shift is booked or unbooked. To change the shift charge rates, use: I need to change the charge rate for one of my shifts.
Changing the start/end times of a shift
If the shift hasn’t been booked yet
To edit the start and end times on an unbooked shift:
- Find the shift on the calendar page
- Click on “Edit time” on the bottom of the shift card
- Enter the new start and end times and click “Save”
If the shift is booked, but worker has not clocked in
Including even if the original start time has passed, as long as worker has not clocked in yet the feature will be available.
To edit the start and end times on a booked shift, you should first coordinate with the professional working the shift. Once you have agreed to a new shift time:
- Find the shift on the calendar page
- Click on “Edit time” on the bottom of the shift card
- Enter the new start and end times and click “Submit.”
- This will send the proposal to the professional through your chat.
- You can make further edits to your proposal by repeating (1) through (3).
- The professional will be able to accept or decline the proposal on their end of the chat.
- You can track the current state of your proposal via an indicator on the shift card.

Once the professional accepts your proposal, the shift will be updated to your proposed start and end times. If they don't respond, the shift times will not change.
There are three ways for the proposal to 'expire':
- If the worker clocks in to the shift
- If the proposed start time has passed
- The worker is no longer working the shift (example: cancelations by either party, system detects a no-show, DNR, etc)
If the shift is already underway (worker has clocked in)
If the extension is 2 hours or less, you do not have to edit the shift time that has been scheduled—ask the professional to clock out earlier or later as needed. You or your staff will be able to edit their clock out time on the professional's digital timesheet as you are signing them out on their devices. If you need to extend the shift end time more than 2 hours beyond the scheduled end time, please contact customer support for assistance.
If you are using the Clipboard mobile app
The Clipboard mobile app does not support editing the shift time yet. Please contact customer support to make any changes to the shift’s start and end times.
Changing the date or location of a shift
To adjust the shift date, you will need to cancel the shift and then repost it. The same applies to changing the location of your shift (for example, moving the shift to a sister facility under the same corporation). Please see the guides linked below for walk-thru instructions.
If the shift is already booked, a cancellation fee may apply according to your contract terms.
