This article explains how to post shifts to your workplace's schedule using the Clipboard web
portal. You can post a single shift from the Day View or post multiple shifts at once from the
Monthly View.
Tip: Post shifts as early as possible. The earlier a shift is listed, the more likely it is to be booked — particularly for NOC, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Roles required: Admin or a user with Shift Management and Post Shift permissions on the workplace account.
Posting a Single Shift (Day View)
The Day View on the Schedule page displays shifts organized in AM, PM, and NOC columns, grouped by worker type (e.g., CNA, LVN).
- In the left navigation menu, select Schedule.
- Ensure you are in Day view (use the Day/Month toggle at the top right).
- Navigate to the date you want using the arrow controls or the mini calendar.
- Select the + Post a new [AM/PM/NOC] shift button at the top of the desired time slot column, or select the + button next to an existing worker type card.
- In the posting form, verify or adjust:
- Worker type (e.g., CNA, LVN, RN)
- Time slot (AM, PM, or NOC)
- Start and end times
- Select Post to publish the shift.
Extending Shift Booking Time
If you are posting a shift within 3 hours of its start time, you will be prompted to choose how long the shift remains visible to workers after the start time. Available options are:
- 2 hours
- 1 hour
- 30 minutes
- Let the shift expire at the start time
Select the option that best fits your needs. If no replacement is found within the selected window, the shift will no longer be visible to workers.
Shift Type Time Ranges
Select the shift type that corresponds to your shift's start time:

Note: If you select a worker type not defined in your contract terms, you are prompted to set and accept the charge rate before posting.
Posting Multiple Shifts (Monthly View)
The Monthly View provides a bulk posting flow for scheduling multiple identical shifts across several days at once.
Starting a Bulk Post
- In the left navigation menu, select Schedule.
- Switch to the Monthly View using the Day/Month toggle.
- Select the Add multiple shifts button in the top right corner.
- In the dropdown, choose the posting mode:
- Bulk — post identical shifts to multiple days
- Block — reserve a block of shifts
- Invite — send shift invitations to specific workers
- Select the worker type (e.g., CNA, LVN/LPN, Cook, Nurse, RN).

Adding Shifts to the Calendar
- After selecting a worker type, the calendar enters bulk posting mode. Use the + and - Controls on each day cell to set how many shifts you want for each day and time slot (AM, PM, NOC).
- The Bulk posting sidebar on the right displays a running total of all staged shifts.
- When ready, select Post shifts at the bottom of the sidebar.

Note: In a single bulk post, all shifts must be the same worker type. To post shifts for different worker types, complete one bulk post and then start another.
Bulk Posting Rules
Each bulk post applies to one worker type and one or more days:
- You can post 3 CNA AM shifts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next three weeks.
- You can post 5 CNA AM shifts on a specific day.
- You cannot mix different worker types in the same bulk post (e.g., 2 RN AM and 2 CNA AM).
To cancel a bulk post before submitting, select Cancel at the top of the calendar.
Posting from the Mobile App
You can also post shifts from the Clipboard Workplace mobile app. Download it using the links or QR code below:
- Open the Clipboard Workplace app on your phone.
- Select Shifts (bottom left).
- Select the worker type calendar, then tap Post new shift (top right).
- Fill in the shift details: worker type, shift type (AM/PM/NOC), start and end times, and the number of copies per day.
- Select all the days you want to post shifts on.
- Tap Post shift to confirm.
If you need to post another shift of the same type immediately, leave Post another shift checked before submitting.
Note: If you are posting within 3 hours of the shift start time, you will be prompted to select a booking time extension window (2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, or let the shift expire at the start time).
After Posting
Once a shift is posted, it becomes visible to workers in the marketplace. Workers who meet the qualification requirements can book the shift. You can track fill progress from the shift details side panel in the Schedule page.
