Note: This is an experimental feature that is currently live in New York and Portland only.
Clipboard Health now lets any timesheet signer immediately flag a worker whose on‑shift performance was not up to your workplace's standards. Schedulers then see a clear alert banner on the Calendar page so they can decide whether to keep or block that worker.
1. What exactly is “Flag for Review”?
When a signer completes the digital timesheet at the end of a shift, they will see three performance choices:
When a manager, charge nurse, or other signer completes the digital timesheet at the end of a shift, they will see three performance choices:
Option (shown to signer) | What it tells Clipboard Health |
Performed well – keep booking | Worker met expectations; no action needed |
🚩 Flag for review – stop booking | Worker’s performance was fair or poor; highlight in web app for further review |
Not sure / skip | No feedback this time |
Selecting Flag for review captures the concern immediately – no separate conversation, email, text or call required.
2. What you will see in the web portal
- As soon as a professional is flagged, the DNR Action Banner appears at the top of your Calendar.
- The banner summarizes:
- Who was flagged
- Which shift triggered the flag (date, time)
- Any upcoming shifts already assigned to that worker. Coverage Protection applies - we will boost and notify nearby reliable workers if you block the worker
- You have two choices inside the banner:
- Do Not Return (DNR) – permanently block the worker from your facility.
- Dismiss banner – if you do not wish to block the worker or need more time, dismiss for now; it will not return once any facility employee has interacted with it.
Coverage protection: If you choose Do Not Return, Clipboard automatically boosts and re‑promotes the affected shifts to our pool of proven, reliable professionals—so you keep your fill rates without extra effort.
3. Why this helps your facility run smoothly
Benefit | How the feature delivers it |
Higher shift quality | Poor performers are identified within minutes of clock‑out, allowing quick action before problems repeat. |
Fair opportunity for great workers | Removing under‑performers frees shifts for professionals who consistently excel. |
Faster, clearer decisions | All the context (feedback, upcoming assignments) is in one banner – no hunting through menus. |
No impact on staffing levels | Instant “coverage protection” means flagged shifts are back in the marketplace with higher visibility, so you stay fully staffed. |
4. Frequently Asked Questions
Question | Answer |
Who can flag a professional? | Anyone signing timesheets at your facility. |
Is “Flag for review” the same as a DNR? | No. Flagging highlights the professional in the web portal. DNR blocks the worker permanently. |
Can I undo a DNR later? | Yes. Go to My Professionals and toggle the worker back by clicking “Unblock.” |
What if multiple workers are flagged? | The banner appears one at a time; once you act, the next banner (if any) loads automatically after one second. |
Will the worker know they were flagged? | No. The flag is internal to your facility’s users of the web portal. |
