If you are injured in an accident during a shift that you booked using Clipboard Health’s marketplace, you are eligible for coverage under our Occupational Accident Insurance policy (subject to the policy’s terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions). On July 8, 2022, you became automatically eligible for coverage under that policy. You do not need to sign up or enroll to be covered, and your coverage is completely free of charge.
What is Occupational Accident Insurance and what does it cover?
Occupational Accident Insurance covers all Clipboard Health independent contractors (healthcare professionals) who use our marketplace to book shifts at participating healthcare facilities. The protections offered by this insurance policy include potential recovery (up to certain limits) for accidental death and dismemberment, accident medical expenses, temporary total disability, and continuous total disability. You will not be eligible for coverage if the shift during which you were injured was not booked through Clipboard Health’s marketplace (for example, a shift booked through a competitor).
Who is eligible for coverage?
All Clipboard Health independent contractors (healthcare professionals) are eligible for coverage under this policy. However, if you book a shift but later cancel or do not show up for that shift, or we cannot verify that you completed any portion of the shift, you will not be eligible to be covered under this policy in connection with that shift. In other words, your eligibility for coverage under this policy will be triggered only upon your verified completion of a shift (or a portion thereof) that was booked using Clipboard's marketplace.
