A Facility can cancel a shift (or end it earlier than scheduled) at any time. However, canceling shifts on short notice has a significant impact on our marketplace and the professionals seeking opportunities. We encourage you to cancel your shifts more than 24 hours in advance.
- If a professional has not booked your shift, you can delete the shift without any cancellation fee by following the instructions available here.
- If a professional has already booked your shift, you may be subject to a cancellation fee, as detailed below.
Please make sure your team is aware of the shift cancellation provisions in your account's agreement, including any applicable fees, before canceling a shift.
Note: Any applicable cancellation fee will be waived when canceling a professional with an estimated arrival that is 30 minutes (or more) past the shift's scheduled start-time. Please follow this guide instead if you are canceling or reporting a late arrival.
Cancellation rules
Upon canceling a shift, you may be charged according to the rates and terms stated in the contract with your facility. Please consult your agreement to check the charges that may apply.
- If your facility cancels a shift outside of the timeframe specified in the contract terms, no cancellation fees will be applied.

If your facility cancels a shift within the timeframe specified in the contract terms, the facility must pay a cancellation fee of the agreed-upon rate in the contract terms.
Ending shifts early
Upon ending a shift early, you may be charged according to the rates and terms stated in the contract with your facility. Please consult your agreement to check the charges that may apply to your facility.
- If a professional is sent home after starting their shift, your account will be responsible for paying the number of hours worked, or the number of hours stipulated in your Contract Terms (whichever is higher).
- If a professional is sent home before starting their shift, your account will be charged according to the rates specified in your Contract Terms.
Note: any applicable shift termination fee will be waived if the shift is terminated early due to certain misconduct by the professional.
