In order to get paid immediately after completing your shift, you will need to make sure your settings are configured for InstantPay and complete our in-app timecard prompts. If you did not get paid immediately for an InstantPay shift, please follow this guide to identify and resolve any issues.
Understanding InstantPay
When you clock out after completing an InstantPay shift, 100% of your shift's scheduled hours are immediately added to your Stripe account. If you worked less than the shift's scheduled hours, you will receive the hourly rate for the hours worked instead.
- Stripe must be configured for debit deposits
- Payroll settings must be configured to auto-withdraw
- Location Services must be enabled
- You must complete your in-app timecard actions
- You must submit a manual timesheet for verification
Confirm your Stripe settings
InstantPay requires that you add a debit card on your Stripe account. This ensures your funds are available for an instant debit transfer from Stripe to your personal account.
- Open the Clipboard Health app > select My Account > select Payroll > tap "Take me to my Stripe account" > scroll down to "Payout Details" > confirm that you have selected the "Debit card" option.
- If you previously selected the "Bank Account" option, add a debit card by selecting "Debit card" and enter your details.
Confirm your Payroll settings
Enabling auto-withdraw ensures your Stripe funds will be instantly and automatically transferred to your personal account after you clock out.
- Open the Clipboard Health app > select My Account > select Payroll > locate "Pay Settings" and enable auto-withdraw.
- Make sure the "Instantly withdraw" option is selected (a $2.99 fee will be automatically deducted per transfer)
Enable Location Services
You will always be prompted to enable location services when clocking into an InstantPay shift, but you might accidentally skip this step and void your shift's InstantPay eligibility. You can prevent this mistake by always having Location Services enabled by default.

In-app timecard actions
InstantPay shifts require that you complete these in-app timecard actions throughout your shift.
- Confirm your attendance before your shift
- Clock in within 1-hour of the shift's start time (before/after)
- Start & end your break (or skip break)
- Clock out
You must enable Location Services for this to work. If you disable Location Services, or forgot to complete these in-app actions, your shift will not register towards InstantPay eligibility. Instead, you will receive your payment upon timesheet verification, which may take an additional 24-48 hours.
Upload a timesheet
Your timesheet is used to cross-reference your in-app timecard and ultimately determines the true payment due, since it has been validated by an authorized signer at the facility. After submitting your manual timesheet for verification, there may be adjustments to your payment.
- Funds added to your pay... if your signed timesheet indicates you worked more hours.
- Funds deducted from your pay... if your signed timesheet indicates you worked less hours.
In the event that funds are deducted from your payment, we will not withdraw funds from your personal bank account. Rather, you would see the balance deducted from your Stripe account.
Rejected timesheets
If your timesheet is rejected, you will be prompted to fix the rejection errors and upload a new timesheet. You can learn more about what causes timesheet rejections here.
