What is Clipboard Score?
Clipboard Score is the evolution of Attendance Score meant to recognize and continuously reward you for your hard work.
We got lots of feedback on Attendance Score from both workplaces and workers alike. The consensus was that it wasn't great. It didn't do a good job at separating professionals with good track records from those with bad track records. As a result, it was a system that only punished people. It never rewarded people for good work.
Clipboard Score is fixing this issue. It ensures that professionals with the best track record on our platform get rewarded for their hard work. To make that happen, here are the changes that we’re implementing with Clipboard Score:
- No More Score Limit. Your score is no longer capped at 100 points, meaning you'll always be recognized for doing great work.
- Higher scores grant Priority Access to shifts. Professionals with the highest scores will get to see and book shifts before everyone else, so try not to lose those points!
-
Cancellation, Lateness, and No Show Penalties are increased:
- Cancellation deductions are increased by 5 pts
- Timeliness deductions are increased by 10 pts
- No Shows will immediately take your score to 0 points regardless of how many points you have.
- Scores will reset to 80 points after restrictions are lifted
How Clipboard Score Works (How to Gain and Lose Points)
All accounts start with 100 points.
You can only earn points by working shifts and showing up on time. You can earn unlimited points, and the more points you have, the earlier you get access to shifts. You can see how your score compares to others in your local area by viewing your rank (go in-app to Status > Clipboard Score)
You can lose points by being late, cancelling bookings, not showing up for shifts, or leaving your shift early without approval (see the breakdown below or in-app by clicking Status > Clipboard Score).
As long as your score is above 0, you're free to book any shift you qualify for. If it drops to 0 or below, your account gets restricted. When your account is restricted, you can only work shifts at workplaces that added them as an A-Team/Priority Plus member or that invite you directly through Shift Invites.

We always let you know the number of points that will be deducted before you commit to canceling your shift. After tapping Cancel, you'll see how many points will be lost and asked to confirm the cancellation. |
Shift cancellations
|
The number of points deducted is determined by how far in advance you cancel the shift. The earlier you cancel a shift, the fewer points will be deducted from your score. Please be mindful of your bookings and cancel ahead of time if needed. We recommend booking no more than 6 shifts at a time to avoid last-minute cancellations. Missing a shift without canceling, canceling after the start time, or leaving your shift early without permission can result in a No Show, which will automatically reduce your score to 0 (regardless of your current score) and restrict your account. You can only avoid this cancellation penalty if the shift start time is greater than 8 hours after you booked AND you cancel within 5 minutes of booking (see the GIF to the left). For all other situations, your score will be penalized as usual. |
Being Late to Your Shift
If you clock in late to a shift in the app, you'll lose points at the end of your shift. Lateness penalties don't apply to shifts booked within 4 hours of the start time or to the second shift in a double shift at the same facility.
If you arrive on time but forget to clock in, you won't lose points for being late as long as your Location Services are enabled correctly.
Lateness penalties are applied after point bonuses for completing a shift. If you have received a Lateness penalty, you'll get a push notification and an alert in the Notification Center. You can also check your complete score history by going to Status > Clipboard Score (See Details) > Activity History Tab in the Clipboard app.
Account Restrictions
If your Clipboard Score drops to 0 (or lower), your account will be restricted. You will only be able to book shifts at workplaces that invite you to the shift or have added you to their A-Team/Priority Plus list.
You cannot earn points while your account is restricted. Regardless of how many shifts you work during the restriction period, your score will stay at 0. Once the restriction lifts, your score will be reset to 80 points, and you will be able to earn points again.
Your first and second restrictions within 6 months will last for 7 days each. Workplaces can add you to their A-Team during these restrictions.
Your third restriction within 6 months will last for a full year, and facilities will be unable to add you to their A-Team. Further restrictions may result in permanent account deactivation.
You can see the date that your restriction ends by tapping Status > Clipboard Score (See Details) in the Clipboard app.
