What is Block Booking?
A feature that lets facilities post a block of shifts across 1 or more weeks for a single professional to book in its entirety.
Where can I view block shifts?
Head to "Find Shifts" and tap on the "Blocks" tap on the top of the page, next to the "Per Diem" tab.
Do I have to book the entirety of the block?
Yes. If you are able to make at least 80% of the block you can reach out to the facility to see if they are willing to update the block for you. Do not book the block unless you have their confirmation or can otherwise work 100% of the block.
For now only those who previously booked a shift at the facility can chat with the facility. If you need to contact them and don't have chat available, please call the facility instead. In one week, anyone will be able to chat with the facility through the blocks details page.
When will I get paid for each shift in the block?
Every shift in the block qualifies for InstantPay. So long as your account is set up correctly, you'll get paid instantly as soon as you clock out of each shift that's part of a block. Be sure to follow this guide to receive instant payment.
How much will I get paid for each shift in the block?
Each shift will have a corresponding pay rate. The sum of all shifts in the block as well as the average pay per hour is displayed on each block card. When you tap "View Block Details" from the "Blocks" tab on "Find Shifts", you'll see a list of all the shifts in the block and the corresponding pay for each of those shifts.
Do blocks have Priority Access?
The facility has the option to give the blocks Priority Access (i.e. they can choose if they want it to go to their Favorites first, for a maximum of 6 hours, before going to the rest of the marketplace). Some blocks will have this option enabled and others won't - it depends on the facility's preferences.
Is rate negotiation available for blocks?
Rate negotiation is currently not available for blocks.
What happens if I cancel a shift in the block?
The expectation is that when you book a block of shifts you and the facility are mutually committing to all shifts within that block.
If you have to cancel a shift within a block, we ask that you inform the facility of this cancellation as soon as possible and, ideally, offer an alternative shift to work instead. The facility can invite you to that shift through Shift Invites and contact Support indicating the shift that they would like to have deleted from the block in favor of the one you have offered to work instead.
Otherwise, if you have to cancel the shift and cannot swap it for another shift, you must cancel that shift in the same way you would a regular per diem shift. Go to "My shifts", click on "View Shift Details" for the specific shift within the block, tap on "Cancel" and then complete the cancellation flow.
The standard Attendance Score point deductions apply for each shift cancellation within a block.
Do you offer Travel blocks?
While we're currently not set up to offer blocks with housing and daily stipends (we're working on it!), you'll be able to book any available blocks in areas where you have a license to practice. Blocks are sorted by distance, nearest to furthest.
