This feature allows applicable users to propose an alternative start and end time for a shift, similar to the Rate Negotiation feature. Instead of missing out on shifts that don't fit into your schedule, the Shift Time Negotiation feature allows you to propose a preferred shift time.
How does this feature work?
When you propose an alternative time for a shift, the facility that posted the shift will be notified and can see the proposal in the Clipboard facility platform. The facility can then either accept or decline the proposal.

If the Facility accepts the shift time proposal:
You will automatically be assigned to the shift with the accepted start and end times.

If the Facility declines the shift time proposal:
The shift time negotiations for this shift will end, and the shift times will remain the same. You can still book the shift at the originally posted time if you would like to.
Note: At this time, you cannot negotiate both the rate and time for the same shift at the same time.
How do I use this feature?
Please remember this feature is currently only available to Registered Dental Hygienists.
You can see the option to Propose an alternative time while shopping for shifts using the Find Shifts options.
- When you find a shift that you want to negotiate the time of, tap Propose an alternative time.
- Edit the start and end times as needed using the digital clock.

Confirm and send your proposal by tapping the "Propose" option at the bottom of the screen.
How do I check my Shift Time Negotiations?
Once you have made a proposal, you can check it for updates in your Clipboard app. To view your proposals, tap My Shifts and select Shifts In Negotiation. From the Shift In Negotiation page, you can see when a proposal has been accepted, declined, or is still pending. To view the Shifts In Negotiation page, you will need to select a date with a booked in the My shifts tab. If you have not booked a shift, you can check that you have an ongoing negotiation by selecting the shift in the Find Shift. You will be notified according to your notification settings when a proposal is accepted.
