Although we encourage cancellations to be made in advance as a courtesy to the professionals on our marketplace, a facility may cancel their shift at any time. If a facility cancels your shift, you may be eligible for a late cancellation payment depending on the facility's Contract Terms, along with how close to your shift's start-time the cancellation occurs.
Note: If you were sent-home from your shift, please read this guide instead.
Standard Cancellations
A standard cancellation is a cancellation that occurs outside of a facility's late cancellation window, which means the cancellation is ineligible for a late cancellation payment. While the standard cancellation window for most facilities is 24 hours ahead of the shift's start time, the eligibility window for payment will vary by facility according to their Contract Terms.
If your shift is cancelled, you will receive a notification informing you, and the shift will be removed from your calendar without a deduction to your Attendance Score. In the cancellation notice, we will provide a list of available replacement shift options in your area so you can book another shift as soon as possible.
Late Cancellations
Although many facilities do offer payment for late cancellations, the payment amount and conditions for eligibility will vary depending on each facility's individual Contract Terms. If you are eligible for a late cancellation payment, your payment will be automatically sent to your Stripe account upon cancellation of your shift.
Learn how to check a facility's cancellation terms by reading this guide.
Note: Late cancellation pay will not be applicable if the shift is cancelled due to late arrival. If you are expected to arrive 20 minutes or more after your shift's scheduled start time, a facility may choose to decline your arrival at their discretion, and late cancellation pay will not be included.
