Clipboard Health gives facilities an easy way to see a professional’s estimated time of arrival ahead of their shift by using the Worker ETA feature (Professionals permit Clipboard Health to check the location data of their mobile devices as explained in more detail in this article.).
There are two ways you can check a professional's ETA in your web or mobile app:
- The live map view
- Live status updates

How it works

The Live Worker ETA tab gives your facility a map view of the real-time, approximate location of a scheduled professional before the start of their shift. Their ETA will become available, at most, 1 hour before the shift start on both web and mobile apps. In addition to this visualization, we include:
- How far the professional is from your facility
- The estimated time of arrival
- The start time of the professional’s shift

Select the "Live Worker ETA" tab from the left panel to open the live map view.
Mobile view
Tap the "Live ETA" tab on the bottom navigation bar.

The ETA status in the shift card will remain up to date with the most recent ETA from the professional. In addition, you can see the status of any Urgent Shift that is posted to Clipboard’s marketplace when the professional who originally booked your shift is running late and fails to confirm their attendance in the app.
This message indicates we have the professional's current location and will share a real-time ETA once they start making their way to your facility
This message indicates that we have yet to confirm the professional’s ETA
A green ETA time indicates the professional is expected to arrive on time
A red ETA time indicates the professional is expected to arrive late

Live chat updates

To provide the best user experience we can, professionals can send live updates when they are running late or their expected arrival time changes. Whenever a professional sends an update, the ETA displayed in the app will automatically update, and you will receive a chat message with any additional details the professional may have provided.

When can I see a professional's ETA?

Worker ETA will be visible in your app for booked shifts no more than one hour prior to the shift’s scheduled start time.
Worker ETA for any shift in the map view will disappear 2 hours after the shift start. The shift card update will retain the arrival time of the professional until the shift ends.

What happens if a professional's ETA is after the shift start time?

If a professional's ETA is after the shift's start time, you will have the option to No Show the worker as soon as the shift starts, and have the option to request a replacement worker at no additional charge. Before the shift begins, if the professional's ETA is more than 20 minutes after a shift's start time, you can contact Clipboard Health support to cancel your shift free of charge.

Who at my workplace can see a professional's ETA?
